Straight Shooter is an award winning band that has been together for 14 years. They are an energetic group and play a wide variety of music, including oldies, classic rock, standards, blues and country. They play everything from George Strait to ZZ Top, Righteous Brothers to rolling Stones and Beatles. Their CD has received airplay in over thirty countries including England, Spain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium and Australia.
Next time you need that special kind of music for your function they will fit the bill. Straight Shooter has a repertoire of over 300 songs and they also take special requests. This is a band that will keep the crowd involved and entertained and welcome audience participation!!

They are a warm up act for national acts and recently opened for Lonestar, Confederate Railroad, Ricochet and Charlie Robison.They also backed up Nashville recording legend T Graham Brown on the Louisiana Hayride last summer. They have been a headliner at Toby Keith’s, Jimmy Buffets Club and regularly play the state’s top venues.
Weddings:
They specialize in performing at wedding receptions and do so all over the country. With a wide variety of music to chose from they have become one of the more sought after groups for these occasions. “It is so much fun to share a couple’s special day and to see so much happiness “. “It makes you want to do the best job you can to ensure that the couple has a perfect day”. We work with wedding planners and individuals. We play formal receptions , outdoor receptions and family venues . We are also a favorite for anniversaries and reunions. Book early!
CASINOS:
The band plays casinos all over Oklahoma and they are a fan favorite. Whether set up on the casino floor, the big rooms, the big stages or the casino’s intimate clubs they bring enthusiasm and professionalism to every show.
They are available to back up your touring artists or to provide warm up music in a variety of styles. They gained this versatility by working as the house band for seven years at the show club, The Cimarron Steakhouse in OKC and at other top local clubs.
Arts Festivals:
They typically play in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas but they will travel further for the right event. They have been selected to perform at the annual “OPENING NIGHT” by the Arts council of Oklahoma City and have also performed at The Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts. In addition to local festivals and political rallies , they play at car and motorcycle shows .
CHARITY:
They chose at least one charity event per year to donate their time. Recently they performed for The Cavett Kids Foundation for terminally ill children. In past years they played for a cancer survivor and Pets and People. This year they played a concert at the Thunderbird Casino for an injured worker that raised over 3500 dollars. One of the members of the band had twins in the neonatal unit at Baptist a few years ago so they have pledged to donate a share of the proceeds from their CD sales to neonatal care.
Political Rallies:
The band has been solicited to play at political rallies for state and national offices in the past. In May of 2011 they played at the Governors Mansion for the Boots, Bandanas and Barbecue event to benefit the Friends of the Mansion.They played for the Mary Fallin for Congress Rallies and The State Republican Watch Party in 2006. They can play such a wide range of music that the most diverse crowds will be entertained. They can also help by targeting particular groups tastes.
CD and Music Awards:
In addition to the many accolades they have received from classic rock fans they have also turned heads in the country market where they play important shows and back up other recording artists. The band has a CD “Have you heard Straight Shooter “. The CD dubbed, new- age country, a cross between “The Eagles” and The Statler Brothers has been on the charts in England, Australia, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Antarctica, The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium to name a few.
Following the release of their CD they were awarded the following distinctions,
- “Band of the year” by the Oklahoma Country Music Association.
- They were chosen “Online Country Band of the Year in the European Market”.
- Based upon airplay of their CD they were selected New Artist Radio “Country Group of the year for 2002”
- They were nominated in 2003 and 2004 for Country Group of the Year.
- Some band members have also been nominated for individual awards as well.
